James leads No. 15 Seminoles over Miami

Bernard James scored 15 of his 18 points in the second half and No. 15 Florida State snapped Miami's five-game winning streak with a 64-59 victory on Saturday. Michael Snaer had 12 points and Ian Miller finished with 11 for Florida State (17-7, 8-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), which bounced back from a disappointing 64-60 loss at Boston College on Wednesday.
UConn has request for 2013 NCAAs denied

The NCAA on Friday turned down the University of Connecticut's request for a waiver that would allow its men's basketball team to play in the 2013 national championship tournament. UConn doesn't qualify for the tournament because of below-standard academic results, but it requested a waiver last month.

Michigan State coach Tom Izzo has been through this all before. Big weekend in the Big Ten. Big game against a big opponent. On and on. So, you can understand that he was cool and composed when asked about Saturday's conference clash in Columbus. It's the No. 11 Spartans against No. 3 Ohio State, and all that goes with it in February.
No. 25 Harvard remains perfect in Ivy

This is one exhilarating stretch for Harvard basketball. Jeremy Lin is an overnight sensation in the NBA, and Corbin Miller and company are working on an undefeated Ivy League schedule. Miller and Kyle Casey scored 17 points apiece, Keith Wright grabbed 13 rebounds and No. 25 Harvard edged Penn 56-50 on Friday night.
Irish top DePaul for sixth straight win

Jerian Grant and Jack Cooley scored 22 points each and Notre Dame held off DePaul 84-76 on Saturday for its sixth win in a row. Cooley also had 14 rebounds and Grant scored 15 of his points in the second half when the Irish (17-8, 9-3 Big East) finally broke away from the Blue Demons. The score was 68-all when DePaul's bench was charged with a technical foul.
