The U.S. Women's soccer team will play in Japan against the host country and against Brazil in April. The games will be April 1 against the World Cup champion Japanese at Sendai, and April 3 against the Brazilians in Chiba in the new Women's Kirin Challenge Cup. Japan will face Brazil on April 5 in Kobe.

Earthquakes sign new deal with Wondolowski

The San Jose Earthquakes have signed two-time MLS leading goal scorer Chris Wondolowski to a new contract. General manager John Doyle announced the deal on Thursday, saying he wanted to reward Wondolowski for his success. Terms were not disclosed. Wondolowski scored 16 goals last season to tie D.C. United's Dwayne De Rosario for the league lead.
Rapids trade Kandji to Dynamo for draft pick

The Colorado Rapids have traded forward Macoumba Kandji to the Houston Dynamo for a conditional draft pick. Kandji was with Colorado when it won its first MLS Cup in 2010. His play led to the winning overtime goal, but he tore his ACL in his left knee in the process. He returned to the field midway through the 2011 season.

DC United sign veteran midfielder Marcelo Saragosa

D.C. United have signed midfielder Marcelo Saragosa, who returns to MLS after two seasons in Azerbaijan. The 30-year-old Brazilian will be playing for his fourth MLS club. He played in 116 games with the Los Angeles Galaxy, FC Dallas and Chivas USA from 2004-10. Saragosa left MLS following the 2010 season to play in the Azerbaijan first division, first with FC Absheron and then with Ravan Baku.
