Wimbledon Ticket Information
There are 3 types of tickets available for Wimbledon, which are debentures, court and grounds tickets. The only covered seating in the venue, the debenture sections are located in the second level above the
courts. Debenture tickets also include access to the "Debenture Holders Lounge": a fine dining lounge with televisions and optimal views of center court. Court tickets entitle use of the uncovered reserved
seating in the Centre, No. 1 and No. 2 courts. Grounds tickets gain access to the No. 2 Court standing enclosure, and to unreserved seating and standing on Courts 3 - 19.
Wimbledon is one of the few major sporting events in the world that offers tickets for sale on the day of the event. With the exception of the last 4 days of Wimbledon, up to 500 tickets are available for the
Centre, No. 1 and No. 2 courts each day. 6,000 Grounds tickets are also available each day. Debenture tickets are NOT available for purchase on the day of. Two queues are set up at Gate 3 specifically for
day of play tickets, and purchases are cash only.
It is also important to note that many people queue overnight in order to maximize their chance of getting tickets, especially for the courts. For grounds tickets, most people don't queue overnight, finding
that it's only necessary to queue for several hours before gates open. Day of play tickets are cash only purchases.
Tickets for Wimbledon can also be purchased in advance. Court tickets are sold through a ballot system with The All England Lawn Tennis Club. Since it's inception, the Public Ballot is always oversubscribed,
so entering the Ballot does not guarantee tickets to Wimbledon. Successful applicants are chosen randomly by computer, as well as the day and court offered. Therefore, it is impossible to request a specific
day or court. Ballots must be submitted by mail and received before December 15th for the following year's championships. Visit The All England Lawn Tennis Club online for more information on the ballot system
and to obtain a Public Ballot.
Debenture tickets are typically sold as a five-year series, though sometimes The All England Lawn Tennis Club will release 4-year series tickets. In the five-year series, a debenture ticket entitles the
holder to one seat in Centre Court for each day of the Championships during those five years. For information on the current series of Debenture tickets, please contact the Debenture Office at The All England
Tennis Ground plc, Church Road, Wimbledon, London SW19 5AE.
Wimbledon tickets, including Debentures, are also available through numerous additional sources. Empire Tickets, a licensed ticket broker with the state of Georgia, has been the #1 source for Wimbledon
tickets on the secondary market for the past ten years. For more information, please call 1-800-725-0112.
